Challenges in India for Wider Adoption of HPC Systems
India is one of the fast developing markets for enterprise
systems and HPC systems. Almost all types of HPC systems - from SMP's to
MPP's, are being procured and used in India. Despite the huge demand,
there are several factors limiting a wider adoption of HPC systems. In
India, price tends to take a higher preference than sometimes even
superiority of technology. The panel can have a strategic discussion and
cover subtopics like server/storage/interconnect hardware, software
stack, professional services, processor technology, need for additional
standards, business/technical challenges, export constraints from US
etc.
