The future of Indian HPC research and development will be discussed by a panel of academic and industry luminaries during HiPC'99, Dec 17-20 in Calcutta. The event will be Webcast by HPCwire at http://tgc.com/hpcwire.


While India is widely projected to become a IT powerhouse in the years to come, where is its Computer Science R&D headed and what role will it play in the future? What has been the role of recent Indian efforts
at building HPC platforms? These and related questions will be addressed at the 6th International Conference on High-Performance Computing (HiPC'99), Dec. 17-20 in Calcutta, India, where a high-profile panel will discuss and project the future of Indian CS R&D based on analyses of the current scenario.
