WORKSHOPS The goal of the workshops held in conjunction with the HiPC conference is to broaden the technical scope of the conference to emerging areas of high performance computing and communication, and their applications. The HiPC workshops serve as an extended forum to present and discuss work-in-progress as well as mature research among researchers from around the world, and also highlight research activities in India. Since its inception in 2002, the HiPC workshop has been very successful and has grown significantly. A sampling of past workshop topics include "New Horizons in Compilers", "Trusted Internet", "Next Generation Wireless Networks", "Cutting-Edge Computing", "Bioinformatics", "Storage Area Networks", and "Soft Computing". Workshops are typically held either on the first day (preceding the main conference as in 2006) or the last day (following the main conference). The workshop proceedings are published as a separate CD-ROM Proceedings and workshops in the past have published journal special issues consisting of extended versions of workshop papers.
Proposals are solicited for workshops on topics related to
the broader theme of the HiPC conference. Workshop proposals should not

its potential interest to the community and its relevance to HiPC, (2) a
draft CFP describing the structure and selection process of the workshop
program, (3) an indication whether it will be a half-day or full-day event,
